There has been lots of discussion online and in the papers about the impact of filter bubbles. I have recently been reminded of my own personal filter bubbles and have decided to be philosophical about it and work harder to break out of my bubble. In my little bubble, I have been aware, for many years, of the need to take action to ensure greater equality for women. In honour of Ada Lovelace Day 2017, the Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (WiSET) group at the University of Southampton, unveiled a collage made up of hundreds of photos of women from all around the university. Located outside the main lecture theatres in the South Academic Block at Southampton General Hospital, attendees gathered to see the collage for the first time. Continue reading →
